Gunman dressed as mailman shoots two in Chicago

A man and a woman were shot and wounded Thursday afternoon in the Fernwood neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side by a gunman dressed as a mailman.

According to Chicago police, the tragedy occurred at 2.20 pm at 9900 South State. A 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman opened the door to a knock from a visitor dressed as a postman who said he had a package for them. Upon entering the house, the criminal immediately opened fire. The man received multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, and the woman to the legs. The victims were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. According to doctors, the man is in serious condition, the woman’s condition has been stabilized.

At the moment, investigative measures are underway and no one has been arrested yet.
