Wife of Rogers Park murder victim begins to find closure

Three weeks have passed since the murder of Wil Lewis, a man gunned down at a bus stop near his home in Rogers Park. In this time his wife Maria Lewis has had time to reflect and piece together the events of the day.

Wil was mistakenly shot by a stray bullet meant for a rival gang member. Three men are now in custody for the murder.

Many civilians were there to give accounts and contribute to the capture of the criminals who fled the scene. Wil Lewis did not die alone.

“I am most thankful that caring and kind souls didn’t let Wil perish alone on the street,” Maria Lewis said.
