Two have died in Joliet grocery store shooting Monday. Gardner Food Mart owner’s son Mohammad Eid, 24, was shot and killed during the attempted robbery Monday afternoon. Two robbers entered the store in the 1000 block of Gardner Street at around 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Eid pulled out a gun on the men when one of the suspects pointed a gun at him. After an exchange of gunfire both Eid and one of the suspects were wounded. Both suspects ran from the scene of the crime, while the injured robber sought help from a home nearby. The two people being questioned are those who drove the now dead shooter involved in the crime. Although police don’t believe the two had anything to do with the crime, they’re being questioned for any details they may have discovered about the shooter or information about the crime. Eid was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital after the incident where he also passed away. Authorities are still looking for the second suspect, all the information provided is he was about 5-foot-9, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with any information should contact Joliet police as soon as possible.
