1. On Wednesday, 12 people were injured and one man was shot near Jackie Robinson Park, according to police. The shooting occurred around 1:10 p.m. near Mount Vernon Elementary School at 10540 S. Morgan St. The shooting victim was shot multiple times and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, according to authorities. No arrests have been made as of Thursday.
2. On Tuesday a 22-year-old man was injured in a shooting in the South Shore neighborhood around 11:48 p.m., according to police. Shots were fired out of a black vehicle that pulled alongside the man near the 7600 block of South Colfax Avenue, according to reports. The man was stabilized at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
3. At around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, a 22-year-old man was shot and injured while riding in a car in the Old Irving Park neighborhood, according to police. The victim had been seated in the passenger seat of a jeep when another man approached and opened fire in the 4000 block of West Addison Street. The victim was injured in the thigh and taken to a police station, before he moved to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where his condition has stabilized.
4. On Monday at 4:45 p.m., a man was shot in the 200 block of South Karlov Avenue. The 21-year-old was in a minivan when another vehicle approached it alongside and opened fire. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right cheеk, but has stabilized at Mount Sinai Hospital.
5. A 35-year-old man was shot to death at a bus stop on Wednesday around 1:15 a.m. Donatello Herrera was on his way home from work to see his three kids when a black SUV opened fire at him while waiting at the bus stop.
Herrera was waiting at a bus stop near Ogden and Western when he suffered the fatal gunshot wounds. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where they pronounced him dead from a gunshot wound to the pelvis at 1:38 a.m. Herrera was a family man without any gang affiliations or arrests, but unfortunately a victim of a senseless act, according to police. No arrests have been made, and community activist Andrew Holmes is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest, he said. 6. A 23-year-old man was fatally shot near a Humboldt Park library around 2:40 p.m. on Monday. Torrance Bell left a parked vehicle in the 700 block of North Kedzie Avenue when three people approached him and two began to open fire, according to authorities. Bell was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Police are still investigating the murder; no one has been charged with the murder as of Thursday.
7. A 23-year-old man was shot and killed Friday around 8 p.m. during an apparent robbery. The Loyola student fell victim to this crime after two men approached Mutahir Rauf and his brother in the 1200 block of West Albion Avenue. Rauf thought the weapons the men showed him were fake, and after attempting to grab it from the shooter’s hand, the men shot and killed Rauf, according to authorities. No arrests have been made in this murder. Police are still investigating the crime.
