Chicago Crime Map: April 24 – May 1

1. A 24-year-old man was shot and injured in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side, at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. The shooting occurred in the 5400 block of South Prairie Avenue and the man suffered a gunshot wound to the right thigh and a graze wound to the torso.
No arrests have been made and no additional information was available as of Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

2. A 28-year-old man was shot at a gas station in West Garfield Park on Sunday night. Late Sunday night a 28-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint at a gas station in the 600 block of South Independence where an armed robber took money out of the victim’s pockets, shot him in the leg and drove off in his van, according to authorities.
The man was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition had stabilized. No arrests have been made and officials are still investigating the case.

3. A 26-year-old was shot in the Marquette Park neighborhood on Friday morning. Rashad A. Abdullah was shot in the 7000 block of South Talman, according to officials. Two people approached Abdullah and opened fire; he was taken to Christ Medical Center for treatment, but pronounced dead at 11:10 a.m. on Friday.

4. A 19-year-old woman was fatally shot and two men injured leaving a house party in the Princeton Park neighborhood on Friday. 19-year-old Nicole Towns was shot in the side leaving a party in the 9300 block of South LaSalle. Towns was declared dead at the scene by the time police arrived at 11:21 p.m., while two men suffered injuries to the side and the other to the shoulder.
The 30-year-old victim was shot in the side and listed in serious condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to authorities. The other partygoer, a 28-year-old male suffered the gunshot wound to the shoulder, but suffered less threatening injuries driving himself to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park where he was treated and released, officials said. The incident is still under investigation; no arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon.

5. A 20-year-old man was shot and killed in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on Sunday. At around 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, Tim Triplett was found in the 3500 block of West Flournoy with multiple gunshot wounds. Triplett was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead at 1:15 p.m. according to officials.
Triplett, of the 4400 block of West Adams, was described as an outstanding basketball player. Police are still investigating the incident and no arrests have yet to be made.

6. A 24-year-old man was shot in the Uptown neighborhood early Monday morning, according to authorities. The man was shot in the 900 block of West Wilson Avenue from a moving silver sedan at 3:55 a.m. on Monday. He suffered gunshot wounds to the hip and groin area, officials said. He was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital and listed in critical condition. No additional information was available as of Wednesday afternoon.

7. A 24-year-old woman was accidentally shot while inside a party bus on Lake Shore Drive early Wednesday morning. The woman was on a party bus with several others when a gun was accidentally discharged, shooting the woman in the leg at around 2:35 a.m. on Wednesday. The incident took place in the 1100 block of South Lake Shore Drive, according to officials. The woman received treatment at Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she was listed in good condition.
The other party bus goers were questioned, but as of Wednesday afternoon no arrests had been made, according to officials.
