1. A 34-year-old woman and a 20 something-year-old man were both fatally shot in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on Sunday morning. At around 6:30 a.m. the pair was walking in the 2700 block of North Lavergne when someone from a car opened fire on the two. The woman suffered an injury to the head, while the man was shot numerous times. According to officials, they were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where they were both pronounced dead. The deaths have yet to be identified, no arrests have been made for the murders and no other information was currently available.

2. A 43-year-old man was fatally shot in Little Village on Sunday morning. Luis A. Perez was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head at around 5:20 a.m. on Sunday in the 2300 block of South Washtenaw. Perez, who had a history of documented gang participation, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.

3. A 36-year-old man and a 35-year-old man were both shot in a car in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood area on Friday night. At about 10:50 p.m., Courtney Jackson, 36, was shot with another man in a car in the 1100 block of North Springfield, when a shooter opened fire on the pair. Jackson suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center at 1:21 a.m. on Saturday. The identity of the 35-year-old was not released, but was listed in serious condition at the same hospital, according to officials.

4. Three victims were shot near the University of Chicago campus on Monday. A 35-year-old man, a 22-year-old and 24-year-old man were all shot near the campus sitting in a parked car in the 5400 block of South Ellis at around 12:30 a.m. on Monday.

The three victims were not students or affiliates of the university, but sought refugee in the campus-parking garage at 55th and Ellis after the incident. The woman was shot in both the chest and abdomen and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. The 24-year-old man was also listed in serious condition after suffering gunshot wounds to the chin, chest and left leg at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The 35-year-old man was stabilized at Stroger with wounds to the leg. According to authorities, the two men were both documented gang members.

5. A 28-year-old woman was shot and killed sitting in a van with her two children in the South Shore neighborhood at around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday. The victim Mechelle Lewis was sitting in a van with her children, an 8-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son, near her home in the 7200 block of South Bennett Avenue, when her ex-boyfriend fatally shot her.
The shooter and ex-boyfriend, a 33-year-old unidentified male, shot and killed Lewis, then proceeded to drive the van with the children still in the vehicle to the 3rd District police station at 7040 S. Cottage Grove Ave to turn himself in. The children were unharmed in the ordeal and the man remains in custody with charges pending, according to officials.

6. A 21-year-old man was killed Tuesday afternoon in the Lawndale neighborhood, according to authorities. The victim, Jaquille Reams, was shot and killed at around 1 p.m. at a liquor store on Ogden Avenue, between Trumbull and Saint Louis avenues. Reams was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where, according to reports, was pronounced dead at 1:49 p.m. No arrests have been made nor additional information was immediately made available.
