Wil Lewis was set to begin a new photography job on Monday. Unfortunately, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time Saturday afternoon.

Lewis, 28, was shot in the back while waiting for a bus in the 1300 block of West Devon Saturday. According to police, Lewis was not the target. Prosecutors said two members of the Conservative Vice Lords were chasing after a rival gang member and attempted to gun him down. However, they hit Lewis instead.

Lewis was taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was pronounced dead at 3:58 p.m. Saturday.

Charges were filed against three men Monday. Eric Vaughn, 31, has been charged with first-degree murder, the attempted murder of Wil Lewis, and reckless driving. However, officials said that Vaughn was not the shooter. According to officials, Vaughn was the driver of the getaway car.

The shooter has not been determined at this time, check back for updates.
